Above Ground Pool Closing Details:

The Above Ground Pool Closing includes a LIQUID CHEMICAL closing kit consisting of chlorine, algaecide, and clarifier designed to give your pool water the boost it needs for a long winters rest. We begin the closing process by first assuring that your pool is as clean and free of debris as possible.  We then lower the pool water to the proper closing level while completely draining and disassembling your pump station. We also disconnect any plumbing going to and coming from the pool.  If your above ground pool has an inground center drain, we will properly blow it out and seal it for winter.  Once the mechanical aspect of your pool is properly winterized and the chemicals are mixed up well, we will securely put your cover over your pool deeming it closed for the season!  Our all-inclusive Above Ground Closing is priced at $200+tax.  At the time of closing we just ask that you have your pool cleaned and balanced well which will increase the chances of it opening smoothly in the spring time.  More recommendations as to what you should do before your closing appointment can be found here.  To assure that your pool is clean and ready come spring time, here are some over winter tips that you can follow to make for a smooth opening when the warm weather returns.

Our 2 week tarp cover guarantee - we guarantee that your tarp cover will stay on the pool for a period of 2 weeks from your closing date. Factors beyond our control including the nature of tarp covers to fail due to weather related incidents including high winds, heavy rains, and in many cases, poor build quality make it impossible for us to guarantee that the cover will stay on for the duration of the winter and so, if your cover comes off of the pool within 2 weeks of us installing it on your pool, we will return to get it back on your pool again at no cost. In the event that the cover fails to remain on the pool as it should be after the 2 week period, we do offer a service call to come reattach the cover to the pool if weather conditions allow. Your tarp cover will generally only fail due to harsh weather conditions and failure to keep your tarp cover sufficiently drained and free of collected water on top of the cover.

We require the client to remove their pool ladder or steps from the pool prior to our arrival for your pool closing appointment.  We do not in any case, physically enter a pool in order to remove a pool ladder that has not already been removed. The staff at Touched By The Sun Pools reserves the right to refuse a closing if a pool entry or exit system has not been removed prior to the crews arrival on the day of the scheduled job.

Inground Pool Closing Details:

The Inground Pool Closing is all-inclusive and includes a LIQUID CHEMICAL closing kit consisting of chlorine, algaecide, and clarifier designed to give your pool water the boost it needs to make it through a long winters rest.  We begin by draining your pool to the proper winterization level while removing any ladders, railings, and other accessories that you may have.  We also prepare your winter cover for installation during this time.  Once your pool is drained, we begin blowing high volumes of pressurized air through your inground pool supply and return lines so that they’re completely blown out and entirely free of any water.  For this process, we use a highly specialized machine designed specifically for winterizing inground pool lines to assure that all lines are completely empty and winterized properly.  Once the lines are blown out, we plug and seal them off.  We then disassemble your pump station and remove all associated pump, heater, filter, and other pump station accessory plugs and place them inside your pool pump basket for easy access come opening time.  While disassembling your pump station, we are also simultaneously blowing it out freeing it of any small amounts of water that may still be present within the pump station.  We then put your winter cover on finalizing your pool closing. Up to 2 gallons of ANTIFREEZE are included in the inground pool closing price. Additional necessary antifreeze will be added to your invoice, at the discretion of your pool service professional, at a cost of $5.00 per gallon.

Additional APPENDAGE fees also apply to pools that have non standard equipment that is part of the overall waterflow system of the pool. Appendages include in-floor cleaning systems, water slides, attached spas, waterfalls, fountains, spill-over diving boards and other non standard equipment. Additional appendage fees are as follows and apply at both OPENING and CLOSING - in-floor cleaning system - $45 to $90 depending on brand and head count (the amount of actual in-floor jets on the bottom of the pool. Most all are $45), water slides, waterfalls, buddy seats, cove seats, and diving boards - $15 per, attached spill-over spas with booster pump - $45 to $90 depending on quantity of jets in spa, and spas that are part of the pool system but do not spill over (completely independent) start at $100.

**The Inground Pool Closing (IG2) is priced at $310+tax plus appendage fee where applicable for attached spas, waterslides, fountains, and other water features that are part of the overall waterflow system.  More recommendations as to what you should do before your closing appointment can be found here.  To assure that your pool is clean and ready come spring time, here are some over winter tips that you can follow to make for a smooth opening when the warm weather returns.  *If you need any winter plugs such as Gizzmos, return plugs, or standard rubber plugs, we always have extras with us for you that we can add to your invoice. Gizzmos are $12 for standard and $15 for blow-thru, white threaded round plugs are $5 each, and rubber expansion plugs are priced in a size = dollar spectrum meaning a #5 plug is $5. The necessity to replace your winter plugs is entirely at the discretion of the professional pool staff that is servicing your pool. We will not, in any case, let a $15 plug get in the way of our staff properly closing your pool.
